Thanksgiving Stage

72 hours in south-west France was apparently enough to give UNISG a run for its money. Thanks to an incredibly enthusiastic Papa & Maman team, we conquered: Toulouse, foie gras, vintage shopping, cloak/beret purchasing, cassoulet, wine, wine and more wine, castle picnics, more foie gras, the three musketeers, foie gras producers, armagnac producers, Trebas, porcini hunting, still more foie gras, Thanksgiving prepping and Thanksgiving feasting. Back in Bra all I have left to say is… vive la France! Vive le foie!

Whole Foods goes East…

Or at least that’s what it felt like when I adventured to this organic co-op. Also it felt like home. And  a little bit like when I found Asia.

“Viva Las Vegan” week two is officially under way. Maman and Melissa have both joined the fight. Long live Quinoa! Whole wheat couscous! Tofu!

Death by Chocolate.

So Maman took me here – basically the world’s most exquisite chocolate buffet.  I’m pretty sure I just gained 2 pounds thinking about it. Ignorance is bliss/saves me money/avoids instant weight gain.

The Lotto: A Christmas Tale

November 28, 2010 § Leave a comment

The snow is falling, Papy has switched to his fleece baseball cap, Mamie refuses to make anything other than soup... it's that time of the year... the bi-annual, tri-village lotto tournament!

Much commotion is had this year. Dozens upon dozens descend into the community hall for free crepes, dollar beers, the ugliest christmas tree I've ever seen, and *gasp* a big screen! (this is a big deal).

Melissa puts on her best beret. The excitement is palpable!

Although I come close to winning a lamb (not joking), my numbers generally suck. I resort to making pictures. This is "I love French men"? ... that can't be right.

BUT WAIT! A Christmas miracle! Mamie can barely believe it!

Mamie AND Maman won! A remote control sports car (score)! An assortment of chocolates! A gift certificate for a toaster! A lame optometry card game! Yeah! Lottos!

Where Am I?
