It hasn’t been the usual Halloween build up around these parts, but we did manage to get in 2 great hikes, bandanas and a single carved pumpkin. Success.

Halloween has never been my favorite holiday. (The soundtrack is terrible, and I always end up in a candy coma.) But the one thing I really do love about the end of October is the great excuse to make a costume. This year: a salmon roll.

The Alba Truffle Festival has been going on for a few weeks now and I finally had a chance to go see it for myself (and to see just how poor I really am). In case a miracle happens and I manage to snag one, I already have my recipe lined up. Until then… at least smelling them is free.
