Home, Stateside

This (very blurry) photo in no way does my trip home justice, but if you squint, you might be able to make out the woman sitting down the aisle from me on my flight from Rome to Philly, fanning herself during the two hours we say on the runway — without air conditioning.

“We’re working on fixing the problem and trying to track down the Italian technicians who can fix the problem,” said the pilot after ordering the flight attendants to open all of the emergency doors to at let in some air. “We’re not sure why they keep driving away.”

It was also lunch time.

More pictures of the Tour d’Italia to come, of course.
