The song doesn’t suck. And he’s cute! And it’s probably all worth it for the Olivia-like guest appearances.

A “Lot On” Thanksgiving

See what I did there? A quick recap:

So the family (without Sarah, and plus my Dad's Japanese friend, Tom) sat down and held polite conversation.

This was, of course, after my dad carved the turkey (he finds great joy in this task) ... note quintessential photos of children in the background.

Nora had her eyes on the prize. My mom was clearly distracted.

... maybe because she had sweet potatoes to prepare.

And then Olivia ran ...

while I (helped to) put up the lights.

The Lotto: A Christmas Tale

The snow is falling, Papy has switched to his fleece baseball cap, Mamie refuses to make anything other than soup... it's that time of the year... the bi-annual, tri-village lotto tournament!

Much commotion is had this year. Dozens upon dozens descend into the community hall for free crepes, dollar beers, the ugliest christmas tree I've ever seen, and *gasp* a big screen! (this is a big deal).

Melissa puts on her best beret. The excitement is palpable!

Although I come close to winning a lamb (not joking), my numbers generally suck. I resort to making pictures. This is "I love French men"? ... that can't be right.

BUT WAIT! A Christmas miracle! Mamie can barely believe it!

Mamie AND Maman won! A remote control sports car (score)! An assortment of chocolates! A gift certificate for a toaster! A lame optometry card game! Yeah! Lottos!

A Paradigm Shift

So I feel like I don’t get to brag about cool stuff my friends do all that often … but Claire Warden has a show at Gallery 100 with four other Bachelor of Fine Arts candidates in photography, as part of a group thesis exhibition, Paradigm Shift.

Of course, her photos were my favorite.
